Putting Down Roots- Your First Days Home with Baby
Five Day Virtual Postpartum Support Package

Many Families are being discharged home earlier than usual and may not feel quite prepared for self/ baby care and feeding.
I'd like to help!! We will meet daily for 20-30 minutes for 5 days via Video-Conference or phone call. We will address current questions you have as well as topics common to this phase of your recovery from pregnancy and birth.The list here reflects options/ suggestions for each day but will be tailored to what is most important to you. Options for times could be 11a,1p or 7p.
Homecoming
  • Current concerns Mom/Baby
  • Main goals: Rest, regain strength, get to know your Baby
  • One or two short term goals - e.g. rest with Baby skin to skin for 1 hour; identify current supports
Day 2
  •  How was the first night home? Let's talk about the challenge of rest for postpartum healing.
  • What have your Baby's feeding patterns, diaper output been like? What feeding positions have been preferred?
  • Shower, comfort, healing tips for Mom
Day 3
  • Short term goals- Tasks needing 5-10 minutes, one goal every 4 hours.
  • Identify current barriers related to feeding your Baby
  • Normal newborn appearances and behaviors/ sleep tips
Day 4
  • Partner Check In: Your relationships and responsibilities may be redefined. What questions/concerns might You have?
  • Is there a plan for MD visits for Mom and Baby?  How is your Baby's diaper output today?
  • Recognition of your "internal world" as the norm right now. Consider some fresh air for a few minutes to reconnect with the "external world".
Day 5
  • Preparing for more mobility: e.g. Baby wearing if over 8 pounds, ?Partner to help with short walk outside using stroller.
  • How is overall healing coming along- postpartum/ incisional soreness/ breast tenderness. How is your appetite?
  • Next steps: determining your personal support Team going forward; identify at least one community virtual support option.

                 Demonstrations, helpful videos, websites + pictures may be used to provide additional references for you. 


The package fee would be $100.00 prepaid by electronic invoice directly through your (or gift giver's) email via Square Up program.
